Aftercare
How to take care of your new tattoo
Proper aftercare is essential for your tattoo to heal well. Follow these instructions carefully.
First 3-4 hours
Keep the bandage on for 3-4 hours after your session. This timing is for small to medium tattoos — for bigger pieces, your artist will give you specific instructions.
Washing
Gently wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap. Pat dry with a clean paper towel — never rub.
Moisturizing
Apply a tattoo aftercare balm 2-3 times a day, or whenever the tattoo looks dry. Your artist can recommend a specific product.
First 2 weeks
No swimming, no sauna, no direct sunlight. Don't scratch or pick at the tattoo — it will peel naturally. Wear loose clothing over the area.
Long-term care
Once healed, always apply sunscreen on your tattoo when exposed to the sun. This keeps the colors vibrant for years.
Do
- Keep it clean and moisturized
- Wear loose, breathable clothing
- Let it peel naturally
- Use SPF once healed
Don't
- Don't scratch, pick, or peel
- No swimming pools, ocean, or hot tubs
- No direct sunlight or tanning beds
- Don't apply too much cream
